Description

In 1872, after the birth of his son, Cezanne moved to Orville on the banks of the Watts River. There, Cezanne's works presented a more typical Impressionism style, and these thought-provoking works were later exhibited in 1874 and 1877 Impressionism exhibitions in Paris.

It is worth mentioning that during this period, Cezanne gradually became interested in Still life. Taking the 1871 work "Still Life Column, Bottle, Cup, and Fruit" as an example, the arrangement of object positions in the screen fully demonstrates the elegance of the Cezantine style. Like many artists at the time, Cezanne emphasized shadows in his works, but exposed certain areas on the canvas, allowing light to reflect off curtains or water bottles. This was a bold attempt at the time.

After 1882, Cezanne spent most of his time outside Paris. He first moved to the port city of Estack near Marseille and painted many sea views, which became later Cezanne's masterpieces. One of them is' L'estaque with Red Roofs', which was completed in 1885. It vividly displays the blue ocean beyond the sunny buildings in this coastal city.
