Description

The white jade sheep head melon ridge style copper inlaid enamel lifting beam pot is carved from top-grade white jade of Hetian, with delicate and warm jade texture. The body of the vessel is shaped like a twelve petal melon with a round belly, and the lid and feet are equally divided into twelve petals. The lid button is shaped like a pagoda with multiple petal melons stacked layer by layer. The most exquisite one is the concave and split petals inside the pot and lid, which correspond to the twelve petals on the outer abdomen. The lid and pot are tightly fitted with the mother and son's mouth. The jade teapot is based on the head of a sheep, and its horns, ears, eyes, beard, teeth, and even nose wings are finely carved and lifelike. The engraved lines and threads are not messy, and the details are polished smooth and delicate, with meticulous processing. The jade pot is decorated with a gilded copper handle carved with floral patterns as the lifting beam. The top of the lifting beam, the beam body, and the lifting hook are all decorated with copper wire enamel. The exquisite enamel Ruyi cloud head lifting hook and three enamel fish embedded in the beam body add dynamic rhythm to the lifting beam jade pot. Overall, the material used for the lifting beam jade teapot is superior, with exquisite workmanship and excellent polishing in the later stage. It is evident that it is a masterpiece of palace jade carving from the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.
