Jiang Xu Beihong, formerly known as Xu Shoukang, was born in Yixing, Jiangsu. He is a modern Chinese painter and art educator, skilled in both oil painting and ink painting. The founder of modern Chinese art, along with Yan Wenliang, Lin Fengmian, and Liu Haisu, is known as the "Four Principal". Famous students include Ai Zhongxin and Wu Zuoren. Xu Beihong is best at drawing horses.
