Description

Liuli, originally named "Liuli", is one of the top five famous Chinese artifacts (gold and silver, jade, Liuli, ceramics, bronze). Legend has it that it was discovered by Fan Li, a strategist of the Yue state during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, while forging swords. He ordered skilled craftsmen to make colorful jewelry and gave it as a token of affection to Xishi. Since its inception, Liuli has been the most dazzling presence in the lives of the royal aristocracy. Its colors are diverse, and ancient people also called it "Five Colored Stone". Due to the difficulty in obtaining it among the people, people at that time regarded glass as even more precious than jade. This piece of glass showcases the image of a standard Shakyamuni Buddha. The head of the Buddha statue is evenly and densely covered with spiral hair, with a high and raised bun on the top of the head, and a precious pearl on the top of the bun. The big ears hang together, and the earrings are clear. The face is round and shaped like a goose egg, with slender eyebrows slanted upwards on both sides. The eyebrows are decorated with round white hair, and the eyes are open, symbolizing insight into everything in the world. The nose bridge is pointed, the mouth is small, and the lower lip is clearly thick. Overall, the expression looks handsome, yet it does not lose the solemnity and sanctity of Buddhism. The body is robust, with beautiful limbs, upright posture, and extraordinary momentum. The casting is exquisite and exceptionally magnificent, using gilded glass as the material. The texture is pure, the coating is mellow, and the golden water is thick. The entire vessel is a top-notch Buddha statue that combines metalworking and carving techniques. It is elaborate and magnificent, showcasing extraordinary religious charm, and has extremely high collection value!
