Description

Zhu Yaokui, now a professor at Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province in 1932. His father, Zhu Shijie, was an early art educator in China and one of the first generation famous oil painters in China. Together with Hu Cuizhong and Yan Wenliang, he was called "Three Outstanding Artists in Canglang". In 1947, he began to study oil painting in Suzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and studied under Yan Wenliang, Liu Haili and other masters.
