Description

Guangxu Yuanbao was cast by 19 provincial bureaus, except for the copper coins cast by the central household department and local provinces, all of which were inscribed with provincial names on the front upper edge. It was the first currency with large face value in circulation in Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, and it was also the first batch of printed and distributed currency in China to introduce overseas technology.
