Description

The use of lotus flowers or lotus petals as decorative patterns and shapes became popular with the introduction of Buddhism, and later adopted their habit of not staining mud, symbolizing purity and being widely used in various types of utensils. The shape of the vessel seems to be a blooming lotus, with gentle and graceful lines, elegant and beautiful. The original vessel should be paired with a holding pot and used as a warming wine utensil, which was common from the late Tang to Song dynasties. The Lotus Warm Bowl, with its elegant design and gentle opaque glaze, is even more precious among the rare Ru kiln artifacts that have been passed down.
