Description

The decorative theme of this bottle is a pomegranate and peony auspicious painting, which belongs to the most meaningful type of auspicious culture in the Qing Dynasty palace. The popular decoration of pomegranate patterns in Qing Dynasty imperial porcelain has a long history, especially in the Gan and Jia dynasties. This bottle is a typical example of the early Daoguang dynasty's porcelain production still retaining the Gan and Jia style. The bat homophonically sounds "fu", while lotus and peony also represent "fu" or "good luck". Pomegranate symbolizes "many children and many blessings", so the entire pattern embodies the meaning of "longevity, good luck, and many children and grandchildren". This is in line with the aesthetic consciousness of "seeking perfection and perfection" emphasized in traditional Chinese aesthetics, fully reflecting the characteristics of the Qing Dynasty porcelain decoration era.
