Chen Yifei (April 14, 1946- April 10, 2005), born in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China, is a Chinese oil painter, visual artist, and film director. He is one of the most famous Chinese American painters in the Western world after China's reform and opening up, and has set multiple auction records for Chinese painter paintings. His representative work "Banquet" once set a record for the highest price of oil paintings auctioned by Chinese people overseas. In 1965, he graduated from the Oil Painting Training Class of Shanghai Fine Arts College (now Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai University) and entered the Shanghai Oil Painting Sculpture Creation Room (now Shanghai Oil Painting Sculpture Institute), where he served as the head of the oil painting team. After traveling to the United States in 1980, he focused on the research and creation of Chinese themed oil paintings. Chen Yifei, with the concept of "great art", has achieved creative achievements in many aspects such as film, clothing, and environmental design, becoming a cultural celebrity. He is a renowned Chinese artist both domestically and internationally.
