Description

The seal text of Emperor Qianlong's Imperial Treasure, Taishi Shaoshi Niushoushan Stone, is perhaps the most famous in Chinese art history. On countless precious treasures, the seal is deeply imprinted with cinnabar. Fan Kuan's "Journey to the Mountains and Streams" scroll, Guo Xi's "Early Spring" scroll, and Wang Ximeng's "Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" scroll, as well as many masterpieces written by great masters, from Emperor Huizong of Song to Lang Shining, almost all important calligraphy and painting masterpieces are connected to this precious seal. The six character seal "Treasure of Emperor Qianlong's Imperial View" is undoubtedly the most representative among the collected treasure seals. This Shoushan Stone Treasure Seal is stamped on one masterpiece after another, leaving the touch of time on its surface. The beautiful scratches on seal script, combined with the embrace of hundreds of paintings, are absolutely evidence of the emperor's indulgence in art.
