Description

Fan Zeng (1938-), born in Nantong, Jiangsu, with the courtesy name Shi Yi, was a Chinese figure painter and calligrapher. I am currently a member of the China Artists Association, a doctoral supervisor and researcher at the China Academy of Art, a tenured professor and doctoral supervisor at Nankai University, and a supervisor at the Chinese Culture Academy at Peking University. Honorary Dean of the School of Arts at Shandong University and Special Advisor on Multiculturalism at UNESCO. Proficient in Chinese figure painting, as well as writing poetry and calligraphy. The idea behind this work comes from "The Analects of Confucius, Shu'er": "When three people walk together, there must be my teacher."; Looking at this painting, three elderly people leisurely stroll. One is dressed in white clothes and has gray hair, exuding a fairy like charm. One wears a straw hat on his head, exposing his chest and abdomen, and is bold and unrestrained. The other holds a cane and looks like a scholar. The three of them are chatting and laughing while walking, followed by a young boy, holding a book in both hands and following closely behind. The items are well preserved and have extremely high collection value.
