Description

Qi Baishi (January 1, 1864 – September 16, 1957), originally named Chunzhi, with the courtesy name Weiqing and the courtesy name Lanting, was later renamed Huang and the courtesy name Biansheng. He was also known as Baishi, Baishishanweng, Laoping, Ejiu, the owner of Jieshan Yinguan, the elderly person at Jiping Hall, and a wealthy man with three hundred stone seals. He was born in Dangshan, Suzhou, Anhui and was a master of modern Chinese painting in Xiangtan, Changsha Prefecture, Hunan (now Xiangtan, Hunan).
