Description

Li Keran (1907.3-1989.12), from Xuzhou, Jiangsu. Originally named Li Yongshun. Under the guidance of Qi Baishi, he is a renowned master of Chinese landscape painting both domestically and internationally. After liberation, he served as a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, and President of the Chinese Painting Research Institute. The seven or eight story mountains in the main scene of this work are almost compressed to the same plane, blocking the audience vertically like door panels. In this way, through the use of monument style and door panel style composition, the visual impact of the mountain shape is greatly enhanced, highlighting the stunning momentum of the mountains.
