Description

Round mouth, straight neck, round drum belly, flat bottom without slight concave feet. The celestial sphere bottle is named because it resembles a planet in the sky. The mouth is decorated with a curled grass pattern around the bottom, and two green lines are added to the top and bottom. Draw a dragon with a round belly and a full body, looking back at it as it soars through the clouds. It opens its mouth, spits out its tongue, and exposes its teeth. Its eyes are wide open and its limbs are stretched out. The dragon's body is painted with scales and armor, and its martial prowess is agile. The neck and crevices are adorned with cross cloud patterns and three cloud patterns. The glaze color is thick with gray, and there are brown green spots and brown green, brown yellow, and iron brown crystal defects in many places. The scale is particularly severe, and the blue and white glaze is covered with bubbles of various sizes, sparse and bright. The glaze is glossy, and the white glaze turns green. The fetal bone is thick and heavy, with traces of casting on both the round body and neck. The bottom of the exposed fetal body has no glaze, and the fetal texture is delicate. During the Yongle and Xuande periods, it was popular to produce large vessels such as the Tianqiu vase and flat teapot. The Tianqiu vase was particularly popular during the Xuande period, with patterns such as cloud dragon, wave dragon, and floral patterns being the most common. This type of great tool for promoting virtue rarely carries literary recognition, so it is difficult to distinguish it from Yongle. The cloud and dragon patterns on this celestial sphere vase are exquisitely crafted, indicating that it was fired during the transitional period between Yongle and Xuande.
