Description

Doucai is a type of colored porcelain that combines underglaze blue and white with overglaze color. It first appeared during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty, and the true fighting colors matured during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty. There are generally three to four types of Chenghua glaze colors, with many reaching six or more, and the colors are relatively bright. It is made by using blue and white materials to double draw the contour lines of flowers, birds, animals, and figures on the porcelain body, applying transparent glaze, firing at high temperature in the kiln, then filling the glaze with colored materials, and then firing at low temperature in the kiln. Doucai porcelain mainly consists of small cups, bowls, and high foot cups, with fewer large pieces of porcelain. This product is a rare plum blossom bottle with an original lid from the Chenghua Dynasty. It has a large size, a regular shape, a pure white body with a slight egg white color and delicate texture, a strong glaze color, and meticulous attention to detail. This plum vase is divided into four groups by five sets of double circles on the body. From top to bottom, the first circle is a floral pattern with tangled branches. The second circle is the main decoration, depicting a group of chickens, flowers, plants, and rocks, which are abundant but not chaotic and lifelike, creating a lively and natural harmonious and beautiful scenery. The third circle is the banana pattern. The fourth circle is the sea wave pattern. The bottle cap craftsmanship is particularly exquisite, with two sets of double rings, each with two sets of roosters and hens, as well as chicks and mountain flowers inside. The bottom of the plum vase is loach backed, with natural aging flint red, and the outer two sides are circled in double line 6-character regular script. Looking at the plum vase as a whole, it is vibrant purple and red, with green and yellow colors that are particularly bright, delicate, and clear. The equal green hair color is elegant and pure, highlighting the unique color of the Ming Dynasty.
