Description

With a small mouth and short neck, ample shoulders and arched abdomen, the tibia is inward contracted, and the circular feet are slightly outward curled. The bottom of the vessel has a blue and white seal script style of "Made in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty" in three lines and six characters. The fetal body is delicate and pure white, and the mouth, neck, shoulders, abdomen, tibia, and bottom are segmented and bonded together. The tire repair technique is exquisite, so the body is smooth and neat without any signs of tire replacement. Stylish, harmonious in proportion, handsome and steady, dignified and generous. The neck and shoulders of the plum vase are respectively painted with banana leaf patterns, flower and grass patterns, and auspicious cloud patterns in blue and white, and the theme decoration on the abdomen is cloud and dragon patterns. The five different forms of dragon leaps and clouds in the bottle belly, and the mutual reflection of cloud dragons makes the theme decoration more distinct. Especially the five dragon patterns, which were used on the same object, have their own unique forms of expression and painting techniques, making them very rare during the Qianlong period. The seawater pattern below the bottle, depicted in a light blue color scheme, vividly showcases the vast ocean and the symbiotic world of divine dragons in the realm of poetry. The plum vase is one of the most elegant and important types of porcelain throughout history. Since the Song and Yuan dynasties, its value and quality have been higher than those of its peers. The plum vase is a classic display porcelain of the Qianlong Dynasty, with a variety of categories and rich decorations, and a small quantity but high-quality. Among them, the blue and white one is mostly a replica of ancient times, and is commonly seen in two categories: one is the blue and white broken branch flower and fruit pattern, and the other is the dragon pattern. The latter is far less abundant in surviving times and is extremely rare. From the analysis of the writing style of the bottom seal script, it can be inferred that the firing time of this product was in the early Qianlong period, and it was an excellent tool for Tang kilns to imitate Xuan kiln plum vases. It is an important and rare representative of Qianlong blue and white plum vases.
