Nagel Auction Company, founded in 1922 and headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, is one of the four major auction houses in Germany. Its business is mainly concentrated in Europe and it is also one of the famous old art auction houses in Europe. Its name is only under auction houses such as Sotheby and Christie. The founder of the company, Fritz, and his successor, Goth, have both been awarded the Cultural Contribution Medal by the Federal Republic of Germany.
 
In 1978, Robin joined the Nagao Auction Company and bought the Nagao Auction Company in 1990, becoming the new head of the company. Nagao Auction Company has established branches and representative offices in Leipzig, Germany, Haifa, Israel, Brussels, Belgium, Verona, Italy, Vienna, Austria, Tokyo, Japan, and Hong Kong and Beijing, China.
 

 
In November 2000, Nagao became famous for auctioning 350000 pieces of Chinese porcelain from the "Sunken Star". Hundreds of thousands of water cultural relics were 100% sold, and that auction was the largest auction in human history, setting a record in auction history and being recorded in Guinness.
 
Nagao Auction Company holds two Asian art auctions annually in Stuttgart, Germany. This is the main fixed auction of Asian art internationally, auctioning art from China, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, with Chinese art being the main focus.
From May 21 to 22, 2004, Nagao Auction Company held a Chinese art auction in Stuttgart, Germany, with over 1000 pieces of Chinese Ming and Qing art treasures, including porcelain, Buddha statues, Xuande stoves, and contemporary famous calligraphies and paintings such as Qi Baishi.
 
Before the auction, the company brought 50 Chinese art treasures to Beijing for a preview and held the "Chinese Ancient Art Exhibition" at the Beijing International Club Hotel from April 16th to 18th. Nagao is the first European auction company to auction in Europe and preview in China.
 
On October 17, 2004, Nagao Auction held its first art auction preview in Shanghai.
