Christie's New York held a new form of 20th and 21st century art evening auction, as the highlight of the 2021 spring auction, with a total transaction value of $691585500 for the two nights. The series of auctions has attracted enthusiastic bidding from collectors in New York, London, and Hong Kong over the phone, and many collectors have also actively participated in the auction through the online bidding platform Christie's LIVE.
 
This season's late filming will be broadcasted globally from the Rockefeller Center in New York. The first evening auction of 21st century art, held on Tuesday, May 11th, marked the beginning of this season's auction week. The total transaction amount is as high as $210471500, which is 123% of the total undervalued price before the auction, and the transaction ratio by project is as high as 94.9%. The evening auction of 20th Century Art held on Thursday evening, May 13th, sold a total of $481114000, which is 117% of the total undervalued price before the auction, and the transaction rate by project is as high as 98%. Both evening shots attracted enthusiastic participation from collectors from 29 countries.
 
Christie's has replaced the categories of "Impressionism and Modern Art" and "Postwar and Contemporary Art" with series auctions of "Art of the 20th Century" and "Art of the 21st Century". After a fierce 19 minute bidding process among six buyers, Pablo Picasso's "The Woman Sitting by the Window (Mary Tres)" landed at a high price of $103410000, making it the highest priced item of the season's auction week.
 
This magnificent masterpiece comes from 1932 and was inspired by the youthful atmosphere and sculptural beauty of Mary Tres by Picasso. He was inspired by this most important Muse goddess and developed a new visual vocabulary, making this work one of the most representative masterpieces of the artist.

The second highest price was Claude Monet's masterpiece Waterloo Bridge in the Fog (1899-1903), which ended at $48450000.
