Description

As a representative work of Mr. Li Keran, "Wanshan Hongbian" takes the meaning of Mao Zedong's "Spring in Qinyuan: Changsha" and has a majestic and heroic temperament. When Li Keran created this painting in 1964, he was in a period of rational contemplation after extensively sketching from life. He gradually got rid of the state of sketching and turned realistic depiction into lyrical and freehand expression. The layout of the visual and object management had a sense of form, and the charm of the brushwork was also strengthened. It had both rigorous and deliberate management, and natural expression of emotions. This painting uses ink as the background and red as the main tone, emphasizing the word "everywhere". Spreading the entire picture in cinnabar color can be considered a bold and innovative move, making the picture moist, bright, and full of layered changes.
