Collection Description: "Immediately" is painted at the end of 1942 during the Anti Japanese War, when Xu Beihong was living in Guiyang and was preparing to leave for Guilin. Marshal Zhang Xueliang has lost his personal freedom for 6 years due to the Xi'an Incident and was imprisoned by Chiang Kai shek in Tongzi, Guizhou. Xu Beihong presented a gift to Zhang Xueliang in the form of an immediate gesture, and under the constraints of form and momentum, it seemed to be ready to be unleashed, with metaphors all in the painting. In his hospitality, he excerpted two lines from Du Shaoling's "Twenty Miscellaneous Poems of Qinzhou": "Lamentation and contemplation of battle, standing tall towards the sky." Collection Description: Among the four works of Guichou in the 32nd year of the Jiajing reign, only one is a private collection, which is Chen Gua's "Flower Painting" volume. This scroll is 32.4 centimeters high and 367 centimeters long. It is printed in ink and paper, depicting ten types of peonies, apricot blossoms, crabapple, lotus, crape myrtle, hibiscus, chrysanthemum, plum blossom, narcissus, and camellia, arranged in chronological order according to the four seasons. They are all broken branches, leaning and falling, with flowers singing and leaves dancing, with a smile in the wind, and a state of longing for love.
