Description

This statue of Shakyamuni Buddha is nearly one meter high and is cast with alloy brass. Over thousands of years, the metal shell has a shiny black gem like luster. Shakyamuni Buddha has a calm face, lowered eyes, and prominent white hair on his eyebrows and hundreds of spiral hair on his head, creating a strong sense of three dimensionality. His craftsmanship is breathtaking. The robe worn by the Buddha's body leans towards the right shoulder and is expressed in an extremely thin, close fitting manner. Except for the edges of the mouth and hem indicated by engraved lines, it seems to have no trace. This style makes the curves of the torso and limbs more prominent. The light and unadorned clothing patterns showcase the beauty of the entire statue in the best way, especially from the waist to the legs, with flowing curves that coordinate the statue's breathing with a musical rhythm, enhancing the harmony and beauty of the statue - this is a typical inheritance of the characteristics of Sarnath stone carvings.
