Nanjing Cloud Brocade is a traditional silk handicraft in China, known as "inch brocade and inch gold". Its history can be traced back to 417 AD (the 13th year of the Yixi reign of the Eastern Jin Dynasty) when an official brocade office was established in the capital Jiankang (now Nanjing) to manage the weaving of brocade.
