Description

Pan Tianshou (March 14, 1897 – September 5, 1971), also known as Dayi, self proclaimed as A Shou or Shou. Modern painter and educator. People from Ninghai, Zhejiang. In 1915, he was admitted to Zhejiang Provincial First Normal School and received education from Jing Hengyi, Li Shutong, and others. His freehand brushwork of flowers and birds was initially studied by Wu Changshuo, and later adopted the methods of Shi Tao and the Eighth National University. He served as the Vice Chairman of the China Artists Association and the Dean of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts.
