This treasure is made of blue jade, with a dragon button and the six characters "Treasure of the Supreme Emperor" written in Zhu seal script. Originally stored in a rosewood box, the lid of the box has been lost, leaving only the box seat. This imperial treasure is made of Xinjiang Hetian blue jade, which is pure and beautiful in color, with a large volume, making it a rare and excellent jade material. The seal script is unique, beautiful and elegant, and the addition and subtraction of the strokes are just right. Although the jade is hard, the seal carving craftsmanship is elegant, the strokes are uniform, and the structure is neat, demonstrating the superb skills of the carving craftsman. This precious button carving is exquisitely crafted, with the double dragons crouching with their backs facing each other, exuding a majestic and divine aura. The scales, horns, and whiskers are exquisitely detailed and clear, with a strong sense of three dimensionality. It combines many jade carving techniques such as round carving, shallow relief, high relief, and transparent carving. The typical style of the Qianlong early and middle period button carving is indeed a rare masterpiece of imperial treasures.
