Description

Hubei Province Guangxu Yuanbao Dangshi refers to the Guangxu Yuanbao copper coins with a face value of ten wen minted in Hubei Province during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the main currencies used in the late Qing Dynasty and an important variety in the collection of modern Chinese coins. Hubei Province is a common minting site for Guangxu Yuanbao copper coins, characterized by the inscription "Made in Hubei Province" on the coin surface. The common feature on the obverse of the Guangxu Yuanbao Ten is the casting of a profile portrait of the Qing Emperor Guangxu, accompanied by some marks or characters from the casting bureau. The "ten characters" on the back are usually presented in Chinese characters, with some additional floral decorations or patterns next to them. There are sometimes variations in the Guangxu Yuanbao made in Hubei Province, such as differences in the size, shape, and font of the cast characters. These variants may have certain rarity and collectible value for coin collectors.
