Description

The monk hat pot is named after its mouth resembling the hat of a monk, and was originally a religious vessel. The porcelain monk hat pot first appeared in the blue and white porcelain of Jingdezhen during the Yuan Dynasty. It was made during the Yongle and Xuande periods of the Ming Dynasty and began to be imitated since Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. The auction pieces were imitations of Yongxuan's works in the imperial kiln of Kangxi. The size of the product is exquisite, small and cute, very rare. The Palace Museum in Beijing houses a Qing Dynasty Kangxi gemstone red glazed monk hat teapot, which has the same design as the auction items. Its size is slightly larger, and according to the style and writing style, it should be written by one person for reference. The spout of the pot is upturned and flows in a duckbill shape, with a well-defined shape. It is covered with precious pearl buttons, tie buttons, and flows, which match perfectly. The outer wall and lid of the pot are covered with gemstone red glaze, with a rich and smooth glaze. The glaze is bright and lustrous, and the color is vivid and eye-catching. The glaze at the mouth and edges is exposed to white fetal bones due to high-temperature melting and sagging, making the glaze color more varied and interesting.
