Description

The outer diameter of the plum vase is only 5.4 centimeters. The body material is pure white and fine, with stable blue and white color, pure white glaze, and extremely high transparency. The blue and white series uses imported Su Ni Bo Qing material. With the original lid, the mouth of the plum blossom bottle is flat and thick, the neck is short and thin, flat on the shoulders, converging below the shoulders, the tibia is thin and long, with an outward sloping near the bottom and a flat bottom. The design is dignified and graceful, with the historical story of "Xiao He chasing Han Xin under the moon" depicted on the abdomen. The images of Xiao He, Han Xin, and the boatman are portrayed with personality, and are set against the backdrop of pine, bamboo, plum, banana, and rocks, vividly unfolding a historical picture. Outside the screen, there are five sets of decorative ribbons, and the entire plum vase is decorated with intricate details. The layout of the decorative ribbons is well arranged. The Yuan Blue and White Plum Vase was fired in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, China, using Su Ma Li Qing from West Asia (the exact origin has not been determined). It is a low manganese and high iron cobalt blue material, with a content of 10% to 19.05%. Therefore, its blue and white color is very bright. The biggest feature of this type of green material firing is the appearance of black brown crystalline spots at the glaze aggregation. In terms of painting techniques, this bottle adopts the Dianrong technique, where all patterns and patterns are completed in one stroke, smooth and powerful, which is very different from the traditional blue and white dyeing technique. The scattered and tin crystal spots are exquisitely and powerfully painted, showcasing the unique features of Yuan blue and white. The plum vase has a small mouth and shoulders, a sloping belly with a flat bottom, a beautiful shape, round lines, and a dignified and luxurious appearance, giving people a sense of dignified beauty. The white glaze is clean and shiny, while the blue material is rich and elegant, complementing each other. In addition, the vigorous technique of Tuo Mo painted porcelain strokes gives the picture a wonderful touch of painting. The beauty of the plum vase lies in the story "Xiao He Chases Han Xin Under the Moon" painted on the belly of the vase: During the peasant war in the late Qin Dynasty, Han Xin abandoned Xiang Yu and fled to Liu Bang. In multiple conversations with Han Xin, Liu Bang's important minister Xiao He greatly appreciated Han Xin. But Han Xin, who had never been valued, gradually became dissatisfied and left on the way from Liu Bang to Nanzheng. After discovering it, Xiao He rode his horse and chased after it overnight, finally persuading Han Xin to change his mind. Subsequently, Xiao He recommended Han Xin to Liu Bang, and Liu Bang then appointed Han Xin as the Grand General. The plum vase depicts six layers of dense blue and white patterns from top to bottom, with the lotus, mixed treasure lotus patterns, deformed lotus petal patterns, and hanging bead patterns all serving the main decoration of "Xiao He Chases Han Xin under the Moon", making the entire object seamlessly integrated and highlighting the theme. The vivid expressions of the characters depicted on the bottle are lifelike. The anxiety of Xiao He galloping on horseback, the hesitation of Han Xin watching by the river, and the anticipation of the old boatman standing with oars are all vividly portrayed. And the blank space is lined with pine, plum, bamboo, and mountain stones, appearing scattered and orderly.
