Description

Emperor Gaozong Hong, known throughout the years as "Qianlong", symbolized "the prosperity of the Heavenly Way". He reigned for sixty years and was the longest lived emperor in Chinese history. He continued the love of the previous emperor, Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, for peach patterns. During his reign, he fired classic nine peach pattern porcelain, decorated with festive and auspicious patterns, symbolizing prosperity and longevity. The peach patterns are winding and interlocking, with peach branches in pairs, flowers and trees different from each other, and fruitful fruits coexisting with nine peaches, with a meaningful meaning. During the Yongzheng Dynasty, the peach pattern was often eight peaches, while during the Qianlong period, it was nine peaches, known as the "Yongba Ganjiu". Porcelain had a soft and beautiful color tone, and was rare and extraordinary, representing the pinnacle of beauty and technology in later Chinese court art. The "Tianqiu vase" is named after a vessel with a round drum resembling the celestial sphere. The Tianqiu vase is a porcelain shape influenced by Western Asian culture, dating back to the Yongle and Xuande periods of the Ming Dynasty. At the time of Zheng He's voyages to the West, the shape of celestial vessels may have been taken from Middle Eastern Islamic bronze or material vessels. Qianlong favored magnificent and generous vessels, and the number of celestial vessels fired during that period was also more than before, making it a particularly outstanding category in Qianlong's imperial porcelain. Pink color originated from the research and development of enamel color introduced by European missionaries in the late Kangxi period, and was adopted by the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory in the early Yongzheng period. During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng, porcelain painters were able to freely depict realistic and beautiful natural scenery and colors on porcelain bodies with newly created powder colors. The Qianlong Pink Nine Peach Heavenly Ball Bottle, with its soft and beautiful peach grain colors, such as light pink, tender yellow, and fresh green, fully showcases the softness of powder colors. The peach grain color of this item is pink and soft, with a tender yellow gradient and delicate red, interspersed with delicate red spots. The peach leaves are dense and sparse, and the graceful appearance of the exposed peach branches is particularly rare. The Heavenly Ball Bottle, also known as the Thousand Autumn Bottle, symbolizes peace and security throughout the thousand years. This vessel continues the innovation of the Yongzheng Dynasty's "cross branch decoration", with peach branches extending to the outer wall of the mouth. Its composition is complex and winding, which is not easy to draw. However, it is favored by Emperor Yongzheng and is called Changzhi, with a sound similar to "Changzhi". Paired with "nine peaches", it means "long-term stability and Changzhi".
