Description:
The glaze of this gourd bottle made in Ru kiln is like congealed grease, with crystal clear ice cracks. The opening pattern of the glaze is caused by the different shrinkage speed between the glaze and the body when it is cooled out of the kiln. The cause is accidental, but it has become a feature of Ru porcelain. Firing is like a natural gem crystal with charming ice crack glaze, but it still needs the right time and place, which can not be controlled by man. The bottle body has the eight trigrams pattern. The shape of the bottle is exquisite and elegant. It is said that when Emperor Huizong of Song Dynasty ascended the throne, the political situation was ruined because of Cai Jing and others under the banner of introducing the new law. However, Emperor Huizong of Song Dynasty himself was addicted to art, believed in Taoism and pursued longevity. This bottle was used by Emperor Huizong of Song Dynasty for Sheng Dan, which is also the reason why the Tai Chi pattern was painted on the body. It is rare that this gourd bottle of Ru kiln has been preserved so perfectly for thousands of generations.
